GitHub Makes Pinned Saved Views Generally Available in Repository Issues
GitHub's August 20, 2026 Changelog says saved views can now be pinned to the repository issues sidebar. It also says the views users use most remain one click away even when the sidebar is collapsed.
Pinned Saved Views
The announcement describes pinning saved views to the repository issues sidebar. GitHub says this keeps frequently used views one click away while the sidebar is collapsed.
Other Changes in the Same GitHub Update
The same Changelog post lists several other updates. Users can now see profile avatars for reactions on issues. The Issues Dashboard density can be adjusted to show more issues at once. Users can hide closed sub-issues to focus on work that remains open.
The post also says that the issue dependency REST API endpoints for blocked_by, blocking, and relates_to now filter results according to the token's granted scope.
What GitHub Actually Announced
The August 20 Changelog covers pinned saved views in the repository issues sidebar and the additional issue and dependency updates described above.
